School of Criticism & Theory, Annual Conference of the Board

Dear Colleagues and Students,

It is with considerable pride that I announce to you that the annual colloquium of the renowned “School of Criticism & Theory” (held every summer at Cornell University) will take place at ۿ۴ý within less than one month from now, on March 8, 2013, at the ۿ۴ý Humanities Center. My colleagues from the “SCT” Board and I thought that ۿ۴ý (and ۿ۴ý’s “horizon,” Silicon Valley), would be the ideal place for an open (and hopefully controversial) discussion about the present state and future of the Humanities.

We hope to be able to welcome you on Friday, March 8, to the ۿ۴ý Humanities Center for intense and lively debates.

I you have questions, please contact Margaret Tompkins (723-1356; tompkins [at] stanford.edu (mailto:tompkins[at]stanford[dot]edu)).

Hoping to see many of you at our meeting, and wishing you a pleasant spring,

Yours,
Hans Ulrich (Sepp) Gumbrecht

Co-sponsored by the Dean of Humanities & Sciences, the ۿ۴ý Humanities Center, the Division of Literatures, Cultures, & Languages, the Departments of Comparative Literature and French & Italian; and the School of Criticism & Theory, Cornell.
